Since the weather in our area has been a little ridiculous lately, we've been trying to figure out ideas on how to keep the kids entertained. After playing out in the snow, cooking, cutting, gluing, and a little bit of iPad time, DH asked Little Man if he wanted to make snow ice cream.
I'd never heard of it before, but I figured it sounded fun and Little Man was all in so they went for it. With a really simple recipe and about 2 minutes, we were able to make a pretty tasty treat.
Here's the recipe:
- 6 cups snow
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sugar
Little Man loved mixing everything together and his favorite part was stirring the mixture and then scooping it into his own smaller bowl.
To prepare it, all we did was mix the ingredients together and then spoon them out. I did feel like our batch was a little strong, but to remedy that, all you'd have to do was add in a little more snow.
We ate most of it immediately, but did also freeze a little to save for later!
Have you ever tried snow ice cream?
