An Update on my Littles - just shy of one and three years!!!

It's been a while since I've done an update post on Little Man & Little Lady, and I am long overdue on some adorable baby happenings!  Let's start first with my seriously kid-looking baby man.

Little Man-

Recently, it's been all about the toddlerisms with Little Man.  He is really, really finding his voice - and telling us the funniest things.  Here are a few of the adorable things he's been saying lately:

"Structions {i.e. a construction site or construction vehicles} on baby's side {of the car}?  Mama, make them on my car next.  Uh-huh.  Yes.  Structions will be on my side next.  Yes."  Because he honestly thinks I can magically make a construction site appear on his side of the car on a whim.  I love this kid.

"Open my window - there is a dinosaur!"  No dinosaur in sight, I promise.

"I got for my shoes!"  Meaning, I forgot my shoes.  He always says the word backward, and I love it!

"That is NOT!"  Whenever he doesn't want to do anything, this is what he says.  He can tell me that he doesn't want to do something specific for whatever reason, but he just somehow landed on his phrase.  Funny thing is though, that DH & I have started to pick it up and I've heard both of us say it at one point or another, lol.

& my favorite right now...

Little Man has also recently had a significant resurgence into wanting to be worn.  Whether it be in a SSC or a wrap - he's been seriously enjoying being worn and carried, enough that I'm seriously considering if I need to destash a few carriers to make room for a Tula or Kinderpack in my plethora of babywearing options!

One of my most favorite times of day with Little Man these days {in addition to the rocking we've been doing recently} is the first thing when he wakes.  Every morning, either when I or Little Lady & I come into his room to get him up, Little Man is already sitting up in bed reading to himself quietly.  When I or we enter, he immediately wants to read at least 3-4 books before we can go downstairs to get breakfast.  It's a really calm, snuggly, awesome way to start our day off - and I look forward to it every morning.

Now onto Little Lady-

Little Lady is a mover, friends.  She is rolling, crawling, pulling up, and creeping around furniture like a boss.  I know she's going to be walking at some point soon, and I am not ready for it yet.  One of her favorite things to do recently though is dance.  Anytime music comes on {the radio, a television, background music, a ringtone, pretty much anything} she is bouncing up and down happily.  Heck, I can even sing and she's dancing.  Let's hope she enjoys my singing voice for a little longer than Little Man did, lol!  We were in a store the other day when she heard the music they were playing in the background, and Little Lady was bouncing up and down on my back the entire time we were in the store.  It was adorable and sort of tough to shop all at once.

She also is a huge, huge fan of talking.  Little Lady is saying Mama and Dada, although I think she gets the two confused sometimes and interchanges them, because sometimes I'm Dada, too.  She also says hi, has a rough estimate for Little Man's name, and has begun to imitate other words.  A few words I've heard her parrot back after I said them have been: Lilo {our dog}, Love you {pretty jumbled, but prosody was similar}, chugga {while reading one of Little Man's train books}, mwah when kissing or wanting a kiss, more when she's using the sign for more, and bye once or twice as well.  I'm so thankful for my little talkers.  Especially when every.single.time she pulls away from nursing I'm greeted with a huge smile and a soft "Hiiiiiiii!"  This kid couldn't be cuter.

Little Lady is almost getting to the point where she's mobile enough to really play with Little Man, which is fan-freaking-tastic.  I'm telling you, these are the moments I've waited for as a parent, seeing their little relationship develop.  Most days, play includes Little Man or Little Lady chasing one another around the room, having shrieking battles between themselves {pass the Tylenol, please?}, or making music together {Little Man loves to pretend he's playing a trumpet or guitar while Little Lady drums with our longer Lincoln Log toys}.

The other day, Little Man asked for a graham cracker snack mid-afternoon.  When I'd given it to him, he said, "Mama, I need one for baby, too!  Probably she's hungry for crackers!"  I gave him a second cracker for her, and he happily walked it over.  When he got to her, Little Man handed her the cracker, but then leaned over and gave her a hug, saying, "Baby, you're my best," and then giving her a kiss on the forehead.  I asked him if he meant best friend, and he said, "Yes, my best."

Basically, I love these kids so much I want to make all the babies.
