Comfy Joey Water Mesh Sling Review & Giveaway!

I don't know about you all, but summer is officially here in my neck of the woods.

To me, that means it is just plain hot.

It also just so happens to be around this time that we either start staying inside, or alternately we head for the water.  Whether that be the water table outside, the sprinkler in the yard, or the pool - we're there.

Being near all the water though usually doesn't bode well for many types of babywearing.  While I typically tend to be less cautious with my carriers {if there's extra fabric, that means it was meant to wipe up a nose, right?}, in the case of water and chlorine, I'm not going to risk putting the construction or materials in a place where they could be damaged.  That's where a water sling comes into play.

I received one of Comfy Joey's water mesh slings a month or so ago to test out as we headed into the hotter months around here, and I have to tell you - I love it.

We've used it in the pool, in the shower, and outside around the house & it's been wonderful.  Little Man tends to still cling to me like a spider monkey when in the pool, and he often requests our purple water mesh sling before we get into the water.  For him right now, swimming is more like a cuddle session in the pool, which is just fine by me! :)  But even for those times when he doesn't want to be in the sling in the water, I don't hesitate to toss the mesh sling up on a lounge chair without worrying someone is going to splash it or get it soaked in chlorinated water and ruin it.

For Little Lady, the water mesh sling solves all the modesty problems I have with nursing while at the pool.  I tend to be on the more I'm a second time mom and if you don't like it don't look side of life nowadays, but even I get a little wary of just how much of my skin has to be shown to nurse in my bathing suit.  While in the water mesh sling, Little Lady can nurse away either sheltered somewhat by the fabric of the body of the sling or of the tail flipped over my shoulder.  And because it's mesh - there's no worry that she's overheating if she does allow me to flip over the tail, as it's so breathable of a fabric.

After having the mesh in the pool, it dries out so quickly and is often the transportation of choice for either little one on the way home from the pool, which just so happens to often be about two blocks too many of a walk home for a tired child just finished swimming.

{I wouldn't recommend long land carries in the mesh sling, but a short carry is just fine in the mesh!  I tend to use my CJ linen when I want to sling for a longer period of time as it has a bit more support.}

But before we go any further, let me show you a few pictures of these lovelies!  And, no - these are obviously NOT of me.  You're not seeing my 6 months post baby number two bod in a bathing suit just yet, lol!

Gorgeous, right?  And such a great way to wear your baby while at the same time stay cool in the pool.  I will mention - if you're wanting a lot of tail to swing up for when you're nursing like I do, you may want to size up.  If you don't want to tuck the fabric around while swimming to avoid that oh, it's just my sling, not a random fish or shark creeping my legs feeling, size down so your sling isn't floating around your legs in the water!

To set off the summer right, Ayesha from Comfy Joey & I are....

{bet you can't guess!}

{okay, you guessed.}

... hosting a giveaway!

Two lucky winners will walk away with some awesome Comfy Joey swag.  One winner will come away with a $50 voucher to the Comfy Joey shop and one winner will get a $25 credit to the Comfy Joey shop.  Which is, you know, awesome since it's hot and either a linen sling or a water mesh sling would be a really great addition to your babywearing stash right about now!

  7. We are 10 minutes from the dunes, so we take our older kids all the time. I would love one of these for the beach since I didn't want to destroy my boba carrier.
